Wider range includes 100% recycled microfiber solutions
October 15, 2026
By: Tara Olivo
Chicopee, a Magnera brand and manufacturer of professional cleaning wipes, is launching its expanded rMicrofibre range, introducing a wider portfolio of 100% recycled microfiber solutions designed to help customers meet the differing hygiene and operational requirements of modern cleaning environments.
Building on the success of the original Chicopee rMicrofibre wipe, the extended range now includes three products – rMicrofibre Light, rMicrofibre Plus and rMicrofibre Super – available in multiple formats to suit different cleaning environments and risk levels, with R/B/G/Y color-coded options that help differentiate cleaning tasks and areas in line with HACCP principles.
The range achieves 99.99% mechanical bacteria removal using only water, enabling lower chemical usage in low-risk environments, while remaining fully compatible with cleaning chemicals for disinfection.
Manufactured in Europe from 100% recycled, GRS-certified materials, the portfolio delivers over 30% lower CO₂ emissions compared with its non-recycled equivalent, according to Magnera’s internal lifecycle assessment. Local production also reduces transport emissions versus far eastern imports while providing customers with a more reliable and agile supply chain.
Designed for healthcare, hospitality, foodservice, retail, transportation and facility management applications, the range supports everything from routine cleaning tasks to higher-risk environments where bacteria removal and cross-contamination prevention are critical.
The expanded portfolio includes:
Unlike many disposable microfiber alternatives that combine microfiber with viscose, affecting cleaning performance and chemical compatibility, the Chicopee rMicrofibre range is manufactured from 100% microfiber. Its premium 32-split, ultra-fine microfibers create exceptional surface contact, helping trap and retain dirt, grease and bacteria rather than redistributing them to other surfaces.
For customers seeking a reusable alternative, rMicrofibre Super provides a cost-effective solution compared to textile microfiber, delivering a similar premium cloth-like feel and durability. With greater bulk and abrasion resistance than disposable microfiber options, it is ideal for intensive cleaning while facilitating access to hard-to-reach areas.
Internal testing has demonstrated that rMicrofibre delivers improved particle retention, oil removal and abrasion resistance compared with disposable microfibre alternatives containing viscose, while providing streak-free results on glass, stainless steel, mirrors, monitors and touchscreens commonly found throughout modern facilities.
“With the expansion of our rMicrofibre portfolio, customers can now choose the right product to fit different cleaning requirements, sustainability objectives and operating models,” says Lorenzo Vaira, product manager for Europe, Chicopee and Sontara. “Whether organizations need a disposable solution for hygiene-sensitive areas and operational simplicity, or a reusable cloth for lower-risk environments, they can benefit from the same proven microfiber technology and sustainability credentials across the range.”
